Esperance Backpackers

While travelling around Western Australia one stop that you must have on your itinerary is Esperance because all backpackers who come here find more than what they were expecting. From adventure, excitement, fun, thrills and spills you will never want to leave this stunning coastal city. It is approximately 700km south of Perth with a couple of means of transportation travelling here on a daily basis making it easy for you to get here. You can hire your own car if you don’t already have one or travel by bus with a number of reputable companies that make Esperance a regular stop.

Enjoying year round perfect weather with warm ocean waters that just beacon you to come and swim in, the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters are two of the main reasons that draw backpackers here from all over the world. There are so many attractions and activities that you are going to need more than just a couple of days to see and do all that Esperance serves up for you! You can check into some excellent hostels and budget accommodation once you arrive, with the hostels providing plenty of onsite entertainment, swimming pool, friendly staff, clean facilities and comfortable accommodation and there are also a number of great caravan parks that all provide a range of Esperance accommodation starting from tent sites, caravan sites and cabins.

Once you have got yourself settle you can set out and explore that city of Esperance where you will find the streets lined with plenty of great places to eat and dine at from cafes, pubs, bars and bistros with many of them to be found along the foreshore esplanade as well as museums, galleries, historical buildings, retail outlets and more. The city of Esperance has everything you would expect from one of the larger cities without the hustle and bustle of the big smoke. You can take a coastal walk, find your own secluded beach or set out on a boardwalk through the wetlands, go bush walking through one of the National Parks or take a trip to one of the neighbouring islands located with the Bay of Isles, called the Esperance Archipelago. Sail around on a luxury cruise vessel for the day, while going swimming, snorkelling, diving and fishing and stop off at one of the islands to go exploring. See a variety of marine life and wildlife along the way from dolphins, sea lions, New Zealand Seals, sea eagles and whales (seasonal). There are reefs to discover, shipwrecks to dive upon and caves and tunnels that are exciting to experience. You can set out by yourself or join a range of tours and charters that will let you see so much that Esperance has to offer and will include a number of the main attractions.

A trip to the Pink Salt Lake is always a must see, four wheel driving and sand duneing is a bundle of fun and horse riding, abseiling and hang gliding is a great way to spend a day. You can join a winery tour to do some taste testing of some award winning wines or take a sunset cruise or overnight camping adventure in the wilderness! Time at Amberland is always fun where you ride waterslides and enjoy a range of fun and games for all ages or you can take time out to enjoy a walk along the beach, go to the wildlife park, play a round of golf, see Sammy the Seal the local resident of Esperance or simply take up one of the waters sports that you can do here such as swimming, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, body boarding or jet skiing. Esperance is a number one destination for all backpackers so be sure to mark it on your list of spots to visit!
